Wild Ways Animal Training & Behaviour Consulting
Behaviour & Quality of Life Consultation
Support for guardians navigating serious behaviour concerns, safety challenges, and difficult euthanasia decisions.

Price: $250
Sometimes behaviour challenges reach a point where guardians are faced with an incredibly difficult question: “Can I safely and humanely continue managing this situation, or is it time to consider behavioural euthanasia?” You don't have to navigate that question alone.
Wild Ways offers Behaviour & Quality-of-Life Consultations for guardians who are struggling with severe, complex, or dangerous behaviour concerns and are trying to determine what options remain available for their animal.
These consultations provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space to talk openly about what is happening. We will review your animal's behaviour, history, environment, safety concerns, quality of life, and the management or treatment options that may still be available.
Depending on your situation, we may discuss:
-Immediate safety and risk-management strategies
-Ways to reduce your animal's stress and improve quality of life
-Environmental and management changes that may help
-Behaviour modification or treatment options that may still be reasonable
-The realistic challenges, limitations, and prognosis associated with the behaviour
-What behavioural euthanasia means and when it may be considered
-How to discuss the decision with your veterinarian
-How to arrange and prepare for a behavioural euthanasia appointment
-What you and your animal may experience during the process
-Ways to make the appointment as calm, comfortable, and Fear Free as possible
At the end of the consultation, I will provide my professional opinion based on the information available, including whether I believe additional behaviour intervention or management may be reasonable or whether behavioural euthanasia may be a compassionate option to discuss with your veterinarian.
My role is not to make the decision for you.
The decision ultimately belongs to you, in consultation with your veterinary team. My role is to provide honest behavioural guidance, help you understand your options and their limitations, identify safety concerns, and support you without judgement regardless of which path you choose.
These consultations are typically offered virtually. Virtual appointments can allow guardians to speak openly and receive support without requiring an animal experiencing significant stress, fear, or behavioural challenges to travel or participate in the consultation.
If you're wondering whether you've reached a point where behavioural euthanasia should be considered, you are welcome to reach out. You do not need to have made a decision before booking.
